a day at the beach

We had a beautiful day here Sunday. I was so thankful for what would most likely be the last glimpse of that warm touch of the summer sun that I made an excuse to head out to the big lake. I had also heard there would be wind … which means waves … which means photo opps. Woot! So, let me put this all together for you: Sunday, warmth, sun, lake, wind, waves, and last but certainly not least, family. That equals out to be about the best day ever (performed a la SpongeBob). it took a really long time to get this pic. i would say, “smile, connor!” and wait. he just sat there like i wasn’t making any sense.

p.s. I left my “real” camera at home on Halloween. To be honest, I’m glad I did as I was able to just truly enjoy a fun holiday with the kiddo.

I posted this to Facebook as well, but then I realized I wanted to have it forever and ever. Seeing my baby boy … playing in the leaves … forgetting (at least momentarily) the other stuff … pure joy.

I didn’t lay there for long, though, to be clear. The leaves were wet. Eww!

Today was, as I explained in a couple of messages, rough. So, in the spirit of pretending like everything is fine keeping things light, I now present the Leep family.

There are few people in this world that can rival the ‘happy’ that is Kammy. You cannot help but feel better when you’re around her. And to be around her family for an hour? So.Fun.

Curt, Kammy, Chase, Jayna and Grady … thanks for braving a chilly Sunday afternoon and sharing your joy with me (even if Smarties bribery was involved).
