Y’all know when I write a post later in the evening, it’s gonna get a bit weird … #amiright? Okay, good. I’m glad we’re on the same page. Now just hang with me for a minute or two because I had shared this with someone last week who may or may not have given me the, ‘are you … okay?’ look upon hearing it, but I figure that’s not that different than any other day that ends in ‘y’, so I’m rollin’ with it. the labels that bind us
Guess what? I’m divorced.
#transformationtuesday
I hear that folks get irritated when others misuse (or overuse) hashtags in social media. So … I hope I’m not irritating you. If I am, chill the heck out. it’s just an old pound sign. #i’mjustplayin’ Continue reading
validation
I’ve stolen twice in the last week. Yep. I’m admitting it right here. Right now. Methinks I have a few too many things on my mind. That, or, I’m truly going to have to stop using the top of the cart as a spot for items I’m planning to purchase. Continue reading
God sightings
One of my favorite daily (oh who am I kidding? they were all my favorites) activities in Guatemala was when members of our group would share how they saw God in action that day. Those moments of sharing were coined ‘God sightings.’ And they were so powerful.
a dad and his little girl
I have been friends with John for a long time. I’ve actually known him since he was a youngster and he was in my youth group and then my post-high school group and now? Well, now we get to be adult friends because we’re both (technically) adults. Isn’t it strange how when you’re adults it doesn’t seem like the age gap is as great? I love that. Because I’m still like ten years older than him but it doesn’t feel that way. #winning Continue reading
i ran for her
Several months back, I got myself in trouble. Well, at the time I probably wasn’t in trouble but now that several months have passed, I’m feeling like I’m in trouble. See, a couple of my mom friends are uber-crazy runner people. And I don’t use terms like ‘uber-crazy’ lightly. We’re all ‘friends’ on Fitbit and when I compare my weekly step count to theirs, well … let’s just say I feel like a lahoo-saher. And then I don’t want to be ‘friends’ with them anymore. Yet, I continue to wear my Fitbit so I can dream about keeping up. Continue reading
where to spend your time
You know how you read or hear something and think it’s pretty awesome and then, later, read or hear something that basically reiterates that other thing and you’re like, ‘whoa, I need to tell people that.’? I find it funny (not like ‘haha’, but like ‘hmm’) that I need that validation step to feel this way, but I do. Continue reading
from the inside out
I spent a good number of hours yesterday sorting and organizing things in a utility room in my basement. I would call the room a closet but it feels as though half of the lower level is made up of this room that houses the furnace and other important make-the-place-function things. I would be far underselling my efforts if I just called it a ‘closet.’ Continue reading
musical monday
Sometime ago, one of my coworkers dubbed the first day of our week “musical Monday.” Since I love music (but not Monday so much), I wanted to share my newest jam. Oh yes, I said I have a jam. Connor enjoys it as well, actually. He said it’s his second favorite song next to Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling.” Continue reading
