one beautiful family

Today was, as I explained in a couple of messages, rough. So, in the spirit of pretending like everything is fine keeping things light, I now present the Leep family.

There are few people in this world that can rival the ‘happy’ that is Kammy. You cannot help but feel better when you’re around her. And to be around her family for an hour? So.Fun.

Curt, Kammy, Chase, Jayna and Grady … thanks for braving a chilly Sunday afternoon and sharing your joy with me (even if Smarties bribery was involved).

girls night out

Several of my girlfriends try to get together at least once a month for some much-needed girl time. I guess we all need it for different reasons, but regardless, we do make an effort to meet up because, well, it’s fun.

This time, we went all crazy and decided a Monday night outing was in order. One of my BFFs (Melissa) had won a private shopping experience with a local boutique (Cake’s … check it out if you haven’t been; they were most welcoming and not at all annoyed that I didn’t come close to buying a single thing). mandy + travis: engaged

Image

I grew up with Mandy. She and I went to the same church, elementary, high school, youth group, etc. She moved to Wisconsin where she met Travis (a Miami Dolphins fan … I know, weird). Anyway, I’ve seen her happy on numerous occasions. Now, if memory serves me (this always gets dangerous), Mandy’s middle name is Joy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her live up to her middle name as much as she did when we met for her engagement session just over a week ago. Wow, these two are in love. I smiled during the entire session. I’m really excited to be partnering with Nikki again to shoot their October wedding. There is no doubt the day will full of joy, as God’s been planning it for quite some time.

If you have just a little fun today, it’s a sign that maybe the future will hold even more fun for you. Fun isn’t just fun – it’s hope. – Linda Richman

There are a few more shots of this adorable couple in the slideshow below.

fifteen things

So, in the spirit of sharing, Connor and I talked about how nectar is expelled this weekend and how it’s not technically the result of bees vomiting, but instead regurgitating from an organ just off to the side of their stomach. Anyway, I need to do that right now … in list form. Because, frankly, I have a whole lot of stuff swirling in my brain and since it’s not in my stomach I won’t be vomiting, technically.
