goodbye, SAD. hello, spring!

I’m quite confident that everyone in the U.S. outside of (maybe) southern Florida can agree that this has been a very difficult winter.

And no, I don’t intend to argue if this winter compares to those when ‘you’ were young or debate whether the snow storms of this last couple of months compares with that of 1978. Let’s just say it does and agree to disagree. Continue reading

Happy March. Or, as we like to say in Michigan, “Happy March. Wait, is it March? Where is the grass? Will this snow ever melt? I’m cold.”

This winter has been an interesting one. It’s been so cold, so snowy and so blowy that having school has become abnormal and 21° feels downright balmy.  Continue reading

Just over a month ago, one of my super thoughtful friends reached out to a group of us to concoct an idea to make sure another one of our friends knew how much we loved and cared for her. After eleventy billion or so Facebook messages (which can be really difficult to keep up with, by the way), we came to an agreement: we were going to hire a fantastic painter to come hang out and teach us how to create an amazing work of art. first comes love

It’s been almost four years since I first met Julie. In that time, I’ve come to truly appreciate her not only as a partner-in-crime at work, but also as an incredibly lovely young lady. I feel like Julie is seventy years younger than I am, so it makes sense that her approach to, well, everything is just so youthful and sweet. She is one of those truly special individuals that just make you want to be better. Suffice it to say, I really like Julie. Continue reading
