My awesome brother-in-law (I’ve talked about him before) had a dresser he’d purchased a year or two ago at a garage sale because it was real wood, beautiful and cheap. I needed a dresser. I saw the dresser he had stored in his barn and it looked sad … like it needed a home … in my bedroom. Continue reading
along for the ride
I’m not sure if mother nature is extending hours in the day at this point but seriously, is it still Monday? ‘Cause … I’m over it.
Anyway, in super happy shiny news, I went to Chicago for an overnight with the ladies this past weekend. Sadly, that 28ish hour period went by much more quickly than this past one has. Continue reading
a water boy performance
In an effort to bribe request Connor’s help with my latest project tonight, I promised him that instead of a shower we could go swimming instead. I know, I know … my award is in the mail. Continue reading

My favorite 15-year-old niece left on her first senior high mission trip yesterday. She and a group of forty-ish students and adult leaders boarded the old blue school bus (and other support vehicles) en route to Henryville, Indiana, to assist with disaster relief following the recent devastation left by a tornado. She watched Connor earlier in the week and we talked about her upcoming trip. Continue reading

Most commonly, you hear women comparing the challenges of being a SAHM or WOHM (which, to be honest, was an entirely new acronym for me … but I like it!) and which is “harder”. I don’t like to put my thoughts out there all the time on such heated topics because I’m too sensitive to get flamed. Note to all readers: my tender heart can’t take meanness so keep it to yourself or just talk behind my back. Whichever. Continue reading
giants and stone-throwing
You know how sometimes you have thoughts about certain subjects and then several unconnected instances affirm that you need to talk about them? Yeah? Wow, so you are with me?! Cool. Continue reading

body combat
I’m starting to find a fitness rhythm I really enjoy. I’m doing all sorts of different things, rather than spending a considerable amount of time doing one activity that I’ll ultimately tire from. I try to fit something in everyday; of course that depends on the time I have, what time I roll out of bed in the morning and/or if I have the energy in the evening after Connor goes nighty-night. And, I’m having a lot of fun. Continue reading
