I posted a photo via Instagram a week or so ago and boy oh boy, did I have some ladies talking. I didn’t realize it until I was at a fundraiser Tuesday night and one of my favorites asked, ‘ok, so who’s the guy?’ I lol’d and said, ‘well, he’s my cousin.’ Second cousin, actually, but he sure is cute isn’t he? And, he’s half my age. I’m not sure what that says about me. Does he look older?

She won’t be happy about it, but I love this photo of my mom. Happy birthday, mama. Do you still love your card? Remember the card with the super sweet quote and even better birthday tribute? You love the card. Continue reading

It’s been one of those weeks that comes with so many ebbs and flows that you really just start to feel a bit seasick by the end of it. Although I’m not actually going to throw up, I can’t lie and say that I haven’t wanted to a few times. Continue reading
goodbye, SAD. hello, spring!
I’m quite confident that everyone in the U.S. outside of (maybe) southern Florida can agree that this has been a very difficult winter.
And no, I don’t intend to argue if this winter compares to those when ‘you’ were young or debate whether the snow storms of this last couple of months compares with that of 1978. Let’s just say it does and agree to disagree. Continue reading

Just over a month ago, one of my super thoughtful friends reached out to a group of us to concoct an idea to make sure another one of our friends knew how much we loved and cared for her. After eleventy billion or so Facebook messages (which can be really difficult to keep up with, by the way), we came to an agreement: we were going to hire a fantastic painter to come hang out and teach us how to create an amazing work of art. Continue reading
first comes love
It’s been almost four years since I first met Julie. In that time, I’ve come to truly appreciate her not only as a partner-in-crime at work, but also as an incredibly lovely young lady. I feel like Julie is seventy years younger than I am, so it makes sense that her approach to, well, everything is just so youthful and sweet. She is one of those truly special individuals that just make you want to be better. Suffice it to say, I really like Julie. Continue reading
lil’ miss sassafras
I have this little buddy. Her name is Maya and she recently celebrated her third birthday. I’ve been following her (quite literally) since she was born as her mom is really good about capturing her at each milestone age. That’s a lesson for this mom who is not so good about doing that. Continue reading
my funny valentine
It is honestly completely crazy to think about that morning eight years ago when I felt my first contraction. It was February 13, just after 3:00 … in the morning, that is. Continue reading
q&a with connor
One of my mom friends (is it weird I call them “mom friends”?) and her uber-creative daughter came up with a survey for all of our babies turning eight. I thought it would be fun to do a live q&a session to cherish forever and ever.

For the record, we did a dry run but realized it was too dark.
Isn’t he cute?
