I looked outside yesterday morning and sort of shrugged and thought, ‘ok, fine.’ In my opinion, if the temperature is going to hover around 30, we might as well see the white stuff. But not on the roads. Because people can’t drive. Or on sidewalks. I’d like to continue to wear flats. #toolazy

teachable moments
Did any of you even know that travel football was a thing? I didn’t either. Well, until about 3 weeks ago when Connor’s dad mentioned it was apparently a thing and that there was an opportunity to try out for a team not too far (far enough to be annoying) from home. That isn’t the travel part.
summer fun (pt 2)
You know how many (likely more seasoned and life-put-together type) travelers plan out their summer adventures well in advance of the season because well, #puremichigan? Heck, I’ve even heard of families logging on to state park websites around January 1ish to book their sites for the much-anticipated best this state has to offer. Well, what I’ve come to learn and accept is that’s just not me. Continue reading
summer fun (pt 1)
Given Summer is still in full swing (insert lots of sarcasm here), I figured I should do a quick recap of my two brief, yet amazing experiences with my little blended blessing of a bunch before it’s officially too late! But, likely today, just one because you know, words!

The days are long, but the years are short.
guatemala redux (part 1)
I have an affinity for the word ‘redux’. Quite simply, it means revisited; however, it also is synonymous with restored. There are no two words more adequate to describe my second adventure to Guatemala. Revisited? Yes. Restored? Oh goodness. If restoration existed in a bottle and it was known as agua pura, then without a doubt I would know it came from the place that has officially taken residence in my heart. Continue reading
fall #adventureswithcj (the end)
The good news is that it’s not quite winter so I’m not even late to share the last of our fall adventure. Right? #fullofexcuses
fall #adventureswithcj (part two)
Pre-game day, folks! I mean, happy almost Thanksgiving! Connor and I are able to sit side-by-side to round up our marathon Saturday in Atlanta just under two weeks ago now. I’ve asked him to make sure I don’t forget any of the wicked cool stuff we did because we most certainly want you all to feel like you were right there with us because, family.
wordless wednesday
Because it’s late. Because we all have a little baseball on the brain. And because I never tire of tearing up over … temporary tattoos.

foosball
Ever since Connor expressed a real interest to play (american) football (mostly as a result of third-grade recess games), I’ve had some angst over not only the choice of that over soccer but also over the likelihood of an injury. (Yes, I’m aware that soccer injuries are a real thing as well.) Continue reading
