I have an affinity for the word ‘redux’. Quite simply, it means revisited; however, it also is synonymous with restored. There are no two words more adequate to describe my second adventure to Guatemala. Revisited? Yes. Restored? Oh goodness. If restoration existed in a bottle and it was known as agua pura, then without a doubt I would know it came from the place that has officially taken residence in my heart. Continue reading

girlfriends
As a little girl, most of my interactions involved my immediate family (dad, mom and at the time, evil sister. she’s since come around.) and some of our extended family members. When I was in high school, though, I had the privilege of having a few close girlfriends with whom I entrusted all of my boy crush secrets (because really? that was the only real confidential info i had to share at that point). And then the boys. Ugh. I started to really like the boys and would often choose spending time with them over my treasured friends. I know.
i have trust issues
This happens every time. Well, each time? I get back from Guatemala and I simmer like hamburger helper on the stove trying to reconcile what in the actual heck just happened. Continue reading
fall #adventureswithcj (the end)
The good news is that it’s not quite winter so I’m not even late to share the last of our fall adventure. Right? #fullofexcuses
fall #adventureswithcj (part one)
Oh, I am well aware you’ve all been waiting for this since last year’s summer edition of #adventureswithcj so let me just assure you, the wait is over! Now, this year’s edition is less picturesque as we literally ran through the city streets of Atlanta. In a day and a half. But please don’t let your hopes be dashed. You need more time this week to think about turkey and cranberries anyhow!
wordless wednesday

Ever since Connor expressed a real interest to play (american) football (mostly as a result of third-grade recess games), I’ve had some angst over not only the choice of that over soccer but also over the likelihood of an injury. (Yes, I’m aware that soccer injuries are a real thing as well.) Continue reading
connor | class of 2024
Today’s skies were a bit drizzly but also on point for a quick fall photo session. This season is always crazy with seniors but today’s subject … well, he’s just my favorite. Continue reading
another brand new ending
I had to share the name I adopted for my little spot in the bloggy world this week with two very special people.
See, August 31, 2016 became the start of a brand new ending for the two people I’ve wanted this moment for for more than anyone else. My mom and dad are retired. It still doesn’t sound quite right but by golly, it’s real. It’s right now. And it’s amazing. Continue reading
world photography day
Seriously, if I could count the number of memos I miss about certain days and events that I could really get on board with … well, it would be a big number. The good news is that I did, in fact, hear that yesterday was dubbed as ‘world photography day’ but the obvious is that I missed posting about it in time. #sadtrombone
It’s all good, though. I am still 100% cool with getting on board with the old clichés as well like ‘better late than never.’ Continue reading
